Today: "Hansel & Gretel" from a new perspective - To Fall Like A Drop Of Rain...

A Puzzle...

My micro-greens are growing VERY well. Soon they'll be big enough to eat... I'm looking forward to adding fresh greens to my menus, but have a difficulty... I've REALLY enjoyed watching them grow and they haven't required much care, so this too has been a pleasure. I'm therefore, finding it difficult to transition from enjoying watching their growth and caring for them to killing and eating them...

I am reminded of the fairy tale: "Hansel and Gretel". As a child, I was horrified by how the witch intended to feed herself: capturing the children, so she could "fattened them up" prior to cooking and eating them. However, I notice now, people do very much the same thing with the plants and animals which are farmed and cultivated. Furthermore, this seems to be absolutely necessary to supply enough food for us to continue living. When food comes from a grocery store -- all sterilized and packaged in paper, plastic and styrofoam, I am distanced from this part of the process and fail to feel it, but growing my own is a different story...

Perhaps the concepts of "good and bad" and "right and wrong" are more complex than it might seem at first glance...

About This Blog....

I've lived on my own for more than 20 years now and although I don't miss the constant presence of some other person in my life AT ALL, I felt there was something missing and I've been thinking about what this could be... My inner work has clearly shown me that MANY things are best shared ONLY inside with my own parts and faces; as this is where they can be REALLY understood and appreciated. The occasional sharing I do with my few friends, although infrequent, is VERY important too, but there still seemed to be something I was missing... Puzzling about what this was, I've determined that what I missed was sharing the small things which felt interesting, important or meaningful at sometime during my day.

However, in the past, when I had others close, like "A MAN" in my life, I was MOST often disappointed. What felt important, interesting or meaningful to me, just wasn't to this other person. Consequently, I don't really want to share with any one particular person. Instead, I'm wanting to allow what I feel inspired to share fall like a drop of rain... free to find its own way to where it may be of use or interest...

This blog is, therefore, a series of posts sharing some feature of my day... Like a drop of rain, each one is free to find its own way to those for whom it might be interesting or meaningful without direction by me... Some days I have nothing to share, but I also frequently write small Haiku-like poems inspired by some piece of my day... It is my space for sharing my small puzzles, feelings, thoughts, poems, some of my current art and...and...and... with whoever wants to stop by... I do often revise posts... I usually continue working with a post until I begin a new one, so most revisions happen before I start the next post... but that isn't the end... nothing posted here is cast in stone or set in concrete. Revisions are to be expected and they can happen at any time. However, since 2017, because the work I've been doing on my web-site has been mostly enough, I haven't shared or revised much here until the end of 2021... Nonetheless, I do hope that you find something of interest... and I don't think I've stopped working here... I've just taken a break or rest for awhile...
